The Volunteers of America of Minnesota Family Treatment Program’s In-Home Relief is designed to provide temporary relief (respite) for parents/guardians by providing in-home care services for children and young adults with varying disabilities and special needs including, but not limited to, autism spectrum disorders, developmental and physical disabilities. This service provides the assistance to enable the child or young adult to remain living in their own family home. Each family is allotted a number of care hours per month or per year. Once a relief care provider is assigned to the family, the family and the provider determines the schedule. Both hourly and overnight care is available depending on what is authorized by the county.
