Description
Phoenix High School is a state approved, contract alternative program serving Minneapolis Public School (MPS) students. The school is located in the Wilder Building just south of the Midtown Market and on the edge of Powderhorn Park. Phoenix prizes its diverse student population -- serving students from all over the metro area as well as some neighboring suburbs. Phoenix High School allows for credit make-up and student success by offering flexible scheduling, small class sizes, extra credit earning opportunities, an on site Independent Study Program (ISP) and a great amount of student support. Phoenix is operated by the Volunteers of America-Minnesota.

Phoenix High School is very much like most MPS high schools but on a much smaller scale. Phoenix offers small class sizes, flexibility in scheduling and a 7-period day which allows students to interact with all teachers and staff. Phoenix has a very strong commitment to student support and Phoenix students benefit from daily positive teacher interaction and have access to on-site counseling and school partners providing social services. Phoenix High prizes its diverse population, and has a goal of seeing every student rise to success at school and in life.
