Who can attend Volunteers of America of Minnesota Adult High School Diploma Program?
Our Adult High School Diploma Program is available to any English Language Learner age 18 years or older.

What is the admission process for Volunteers of America of Minnesota Adult High School Diploma Program?
To be admitted into our Adult High School Diploma Program, prospective students should make an appointment by calling 612-375-0700 to be tested on a Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  When the test is finished, the prospective student meets with staff for an intake interview and receives a program orientation.  New students may begin taking classes at the level the test indicates.

Does Volunteers of America of Minnesota Adult High School Diploma Program offer varied class levels?
Our Adult High School Diploma Program offers seven levels of classes to meet the individual needs of students.  Students are assessed on a regular basis to determine when they are ready to proceed to the next level.

How often must students attend classes at Volunteers of America of Minnesota Adult High School Diploma Program?
Our Adult High School Diploma Program classes are offered Monday through Friday, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Students are encouraged to attend class as often as possible but classes are flexibly structured to accommodate adult students who may not be able to attend every day.

How long will it take to earn a high school diploma through Volunteers of America of Minnesota Adult High School Diploma Program?
Our Adult High School Diploma Program Classes are offered at multiple skill levels and students work through the program at their own pace.  Students are assessed on a regular basis to determine when they are ready to move to the next level.  In order to earn a diploma, students must score a 7.0 on the Test of Adult Basic Education, pass the Minnesota Basic Standards Test (MBST), and successfully complete 16 Equipped for the Future (EFF) standards.

Can students graduate early from Volunteers of America of Minnesota Adult High School Diploma Program if they meet all the requirements within a short time?
Yes, our individualized Adult High School Diploma Program allows students to graduate once they complete the Test of Adult Basic Education, pass the Minnesota Basic Standards Test, and successfully complete 16 Equipped for the Future (EFF) standards.

Is Volunteers of America of Minnesota Adult High School Diploma Program diploma recognized by colleges?
Yes, students who graduate from our Adult High School Diploma Program receive a diploma, which is granted by Minneapolis Public Schools and is recognized by all colleges.
