Become a Drop Off Location for Operation Backpack

Thank you for your interest in partnering with us for Operation Backpack.

You will be listed on our website as a supporter of the Operation Backpack campaign by being a drop off location.  We'll list your name, address, location of the drop box and hours of operation.

Click here to see our a list of our current drop off locations > Drop Off Locations.

It's simple for your business, service organization, school, church, temple, mosque or synagogue to collect backpacks for the Operation Backpack campaign.

First:

Contact Kristin Cook at 952-945-4039 or kcook@voamn.org to indicate your interest in being a drop off location for Operation Backpack.

Here's how it works:

1. Collection dates period runs from August 2 to August 23.

2. A Volunteers of America - Minnesota staff member deliver these items to your location:

    • A collection receptacle (cardboard box approx 3’ high and 2’ in diameter)
    • A tear-off pad of supply lists that will be attached to the collection receptacle
    • A 8-1/2" x 11" flyer to post in your window to announce to the community that you are an Operation Backpack Drop-off Location
    • A "drop-off poster" (approx 3’ x 2’) to place above (or on) the receptacle.

3. If you run out of materials, or your collection receptacle is getting full, please give us a phone call and we'll bring more materials or pick up your backpacks.

4.  Around the end of August, a staff member will pick up backpacks and materials from all drop-off locations.
