What is the "Make a Difference Breakfast"?
Our annual “Make a Difference Breakfast” is a special one-hour program intended to educate, engage and inspire attendees, as well as win people’s hearts and raise the funds needed to continue our mission!  It's free to come and breakfast will be provided.  Attendees will be asked for a contribution but there will be no donation expected and guests will not be pressured to give.

Why attend?
Some people come to our “Make a Difference Breakfast” to gain a more personal connection to the Volunteers of America organization which they’re supported for many years.  Others have never heard of us before and are interested in learning more about what we do.  No matter who you are, we believe you’ll discover that no other nonprofit in our community touches the lives of so many with such a broad array of programs that make a significant, lasting difference as Volunteers of America-Minnesota.  And, something very special is happening in our 113th year as we continue our tradition of helping those who are less fortunate with innovation, dedication and the partnership of people like you!
Here’s what past attendees have said about our annual “Make A Difference Breakfast”:

  • “Thank you so much for inviting me.  It was great to hear that [Volunteers of America is] doing so many amazing things in the community.  It was exactly what I needed this morning…”
  • “We’ve been a corporate volunteer group with [Volunteers of America] for many years, but have never been invited to this event.  I’m so glad you invited me."
  • “[The Breakfast was] a very nice way to let people know what [Volunteers of America] does.  Very professional.”
  • “My guests were very impressed with all the things that [Volunteers of America] does.”

By attending our “Make a Difference Breakfast” you’ll start your day knowing that you are part of an organization that is making a significant, lasting difference in the lives of children, families, seniors and many others.  You’ll hear stories about amazing transformations like these:

Amber (age 18) who found a stable home with the help of our Family Treatment Foster Care program; and
Sam (age 11), deaf and diagnosed with ADHD, who found help with emotional/behavioral problems with the help of our Deaf and Hard of Hearing School-Based Mental Health program; and
Mohammed (age 94) who continues to live independently with the help of our Highrise Social Services program.
