Michael Weber President and Chief Executive Officer Volunteers of America of Minnesota |
2006 represented the 110th year of Volunteers of America’s service within Minnesota. This makes us one of the longest serving non profit social service organizations in the state. But rather than focusing on merely the length of time we have served the citizens of Minnesota, we want to emphasize the IMPACT we have been making for these 110 years.
33,456 participants were involved in our sixty programs which were supported by $35,737,541 in revenues during this year. These are important factors for our accountability to the community. However, even more important is our reporting of the IMPACT we have made in the lives of these 33,456 participants.
We are able to share participant success stories to help illustrate how we are MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN PEOPLES’ LIVES. It is this IMPACT that is at the heart of our organization and is the reason for our continued existence. But these individual profiles, while inspiring, are only selective samples.
Each of our Volunteers of America programs articulates the IMPACT the program intends to make through its involvement in our participants’ lives and tracks the extent to which we are effective in achieving this IMPACT. This Program Impact and Quality Report shares the cumulative IMPACT our sixty programs are making each year in the lives of over 33,456 program participants.
Our commitment is to continue our service to Minnesotans, to continue responsible use of the financial resources our community has entrusted to us, and to be able to assure our stakeholders that their investment in Volunteers of America is truly MAKING A LASTING IMPACT in the lives of our program participants.
